20090917-montcrief.jpgDistrict Governor A.C. Moncrief challenged club members to invite friends and colleagues to Rotary, where "we can share Rotary and open possibilities for community service with a world vision."

A.C., who is past president of the Ozark, Arkansas club, is traveling to all 99 clubs in District 6110. He attended the Rotary Club of Tulsa two weeks in a row in September — once when the Zone Institute was held in the Tulsa, the following week when he addressed the club.

Prior to the September 18 luncheon meeting, Governor A.C. was our guest at the annual club assembly, where committee chairs share their goals and plans for the remainder of the Rotary year.

At the lunch meeting A.C. praised our club and our myriad of projects and "for serving as a leader in District 6110 and in the Rotary world."

"The 400 district governors and guests from throughout the country who came to Tulsa for the Zone Institute were so very impressed with the 'music of Rotary' that resounded from Tulsa," he said.  "President-elect Ray Klinginsmith and others told me that Tulsa hosted the best, most comprehensive and welcoming Zone Institute ever."

Governor A.C. told the club that his goals include increase Rotary membership by 20 percent, or 1,000 new members.

Besides addressing the club, the governor also recognized the club's newest Paul Harris Fellows, and members with 50 years or more of service.
