Rotarians Celebrate TU Win in Renovated Chapman Stadium

By TIM COLWELL
GasserOnline Correspondent

The first half of the nationally televised University of Tulsa-Central Florida football game wasn't so pretty, but Rotary Night with the Golden Hurricane turned out to be a crowd pleaser, with a big TU win that was pretty much settled in the third quarter.

The October 26 pre-game tailgate party and stadium seating for 48 Rotarians and guests were organized by the club's Sports/Recreation Committee, headed by Del Snoberger and Caryl Kuykendall.  For many Rotarians and guests, the game — which was televised on ESPN was the first time to see TU's renovated and renamed H. K. Chapman Stadium.

Before a sea of blue and gold and cheering Rotarians, the 'Cane got the job done, 49-19, and stayed unbeaten at 8-0.  The Golden Hurricane is nationally ranked #18.
