Having made countless creative contributions to Rotary Club of Tulsa over the years, Ron Butler was named Rotarian of the Year on June 30.
“The Rotarian of the Year sets an example for us all – a model for how we are to serve and live as Rotarians,” said then-club president Del Dreyer, as he introduced Ron to receive the 2010 award.
Ron joins fellow Rotarians Linda Bradshaw, Del Dreyer, Bob McKenzie, Jim Weems, Ben Windham, David Peterson and Mac Finlayson in being recognized for the honor since the tradition began in 2003. Each year, the club president selects one Rotarian who has exemplified “service above self” as well as the elements of the four-way test. The Rotarian of the Year consistently puts service to the club, and in most cases also to the community, high on the priority list.

Ron has been an activist Rotarian, serving on the board and on several committees. With his creative partner and wife, Margaret, Ron has been the backbone of the club’s Henry P. Iba Citizen Athlete Committee.
